After this session, you will have an appreciation of the flexibility and usefulness of Perl in a bioinformatics environment. You would have seen Perl code and therefore have a sense of what the language and its syntax looks like. You would have seen Perl variables (scalars, arrays, hashes) and have been introduced to using modules and finding them on CPAN.
