about workshop
The bioinformatics perl workshops are a series of ongoing public Perl talks presented by the Genome Sciences Centre. The workshops are for users of all levels who wish to learn more Perl and it in a bioinformatics setting. The workshops are organized into multiple tracks.
- beginner/intermediate track consisting of 10 or so lectures covering fundamental Perl
- intermediate/advanced track presenting a broad topic area, such as a subset of Bio::, in a series of lectures
- advanced track consisting of 1-2 sessions that present a single topic, such as a useful module or idiom, in a bioinformatics context
The instructors for the workshops are volunteers who use Perl at the GSC on a variety of projects. If you would like to join us in organizing the workshops or presenting sessions, we're looking for people to teach specific topics.
Depending on general demand and feedback the workshop format may change. This is your resource! So come out and participate and share your Perl knowledge as you learn with others.
